It’s been a while, I know that! I’d even intended to update more often, start writing more and all. Sadly, things have gone a bit awry in Cairo. If you read the news you’d know that things have reached some sort of deja vu level right now with the mess in Tahrir Square.
I haven’t been to university for a week due to those developments. My parents are in Kuwait so they keep calling and insisting it’s not that important to go to university until things calm down. So I’ve had people send me notes, and I’ve been revising all my old notes and fixing them, just to have done something.
You see, unlike the rest of my friends I have to cross Tahrir to go to University, and even the subway isn’t safe because of the teargases they’ve been spreading to get the people in the station out too.
I wish things would settle down soon! I miss going to uni, I am missing out on so much work!
Anyhow, a lot of people have been changing their profile pictures lately to fit the events in Tahrir, and this is basically my favourite:

Why? Well, for those of you who don’t know, leading right to Tahrir Square there’s this bridge called ‘Kasr El Nile’ bridge, and it has four lions, two on each side of the bridge. I guess it’s some sort of symbolic gesture, them protecting it and all. So this just shows that even the lions of Tahrir are angry and also a way of how the Egyptian adolescents are fighting with a lion’s heart.
Anyhow, before I get sappy and lame, I am off. Crossing my fingers that I don’t hear that much ambulances today -I heard like 5 so far.
